Jerry Finnegan’s Sister

Brian Dowd has spent the last 10 years of his life wrestling with an unrequited "something" for his best friend's sister. But each and every time he's spoken with Beth Finnegan for more than 30 seconds, he's ended up with his foot planted firmly in his mouth. Now, Brian's time is about to run out. With news that Jerry Finnegan's sister is getting married, the time has come for him to put up or shut up. In a series of fast-moving, hysterically funny scenes, two actors play Brian and Beth from childhood, through teen years, right up to the moment the play is happening, when they're both in their early 20s. It has been hailed by critics as "A delight...a gem! Has enough chuckles, guffaws and belly laughs to please any patron." Jerry Finnegan's Sister is the rare comedy that is at once entertaining, very funny, and, ultimately, touching.

Newlanders

The NewLanders have researched and rediscovered songs that capture the American experience. By interweaving traditional instruments, including the Appalachian lap dulcimer, fiddle, and mandolin, with richly layered harmonies and electric guitar and bass, the NewLanders have created a contemporary sound, while honoring and preserving the inspiring stories of the past. A NewLanders' performance includes engaging narrations and real-life accounts from the mills, mines, rivers, and fields of their home region, western Pennsylvania, as well as haunting songs and poignant stories that celebrate the enduring spirit that built our nation.

Fiddlekicks

FiddleKicks brings Appalachian clogging to life with a whoop and a holler! This uniquely American dance, from the southern Appalachian Mountains, emerged from a melting pot of influences - Celtic, African and Cherokee - creating a distinct new form of folk music and percussive dance, performed to the rhythms and driving beat of live banjo and fiddle. Adding variety to performances, repertoire also includes other traditional percussive styles.

Grkmania

Slovenian style polka band which has received a Grammy nomiation and represented PA at the Kennedy Center’s State Days. The sprightly beat of Slovenian folk music and the strains of the button box accordion are better than a six-pack of Prozac for breaking up the dark clouds over your head. It's impossible to be depressed when you're listening to tunes like "Roll Out the Buttons", "Grandpa's Coal Mining Song" and "Squeeze the Box" selections from Grkman's most recent CD, Grkmania. It's happy music for happy people!
