The Importance of Being Earnest
by Oscar Wilde
A farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personae in order to escape burdensome social obligations.
Try saying that fast while eating cucumber sandwiches and drinking tea!
“Earnest” is an immensely witty, suggestively uncouth, double-entendre rich frolic from the tips of the treacherous tongue to the warm bosom of the embracing heart. Layered, intelligent humor sprinkled throughout social graces gone absurd make this production an absolute must see for anyone looking to escape the winter doldrums as well as the often dim-witted slathering of mind-numbing fodder offered on tv. Get off that sofa, out of that feverous cabin and join us in an evening of laughs so sublime it have you chuckling right into the thaw of spring!
Reitz Theater regular Ben Fye (star of Nevermore!, Laughter on the 23rd Floor and director of Agnes of God) brings us the long anticipated Oscar Wilde to the Reitz Theater.
Performing this classic will be such talents as R. Lee Chappel, Bram McGinnis, Jessalyn Penvose, Hannah Wallace, Deb Grieve, Jenny Gordon, Drew Gordon, Josh Alderton, and Tyson Titler.
Tickets for a well-deserved night out are only $10 for adults, $8 for Seniors or Students.
